We were contacted via Twitter by Anna King a DJ who works for BBC Radio Gloucestershire, she had been following our travels and was very interested in meeting us. We were very apprehensive when Anna first contacted us, as we had never done anything like this before, however, after a few conversations with her she put us at ease and a date was set for us to attend the studios.
On the morning of the BBC interview we were both so nervous and felt physically sick, and were both thinking what on earth were we doing! We both knew it was a great opportunity but were worried we would make fools of ourselves. We arrived at the studios and were met by the receptionist Paula who was so welcoming and a fan of cruising, we had lots to chat about whilst we waited. The producer came and met us and took us into Anna’s studio, as soon as we walked in she was lovely. We were shown to our seats and Anna explained how the interview or ‘chat’ as she described it would go ahead. Our yellow and green microphones were set up and tested and we were ready to go!
Following the BBC interview and when the shaking eventually stopped, we were both really glad that we had this experience and have been overwhelmed by the positive comments we have received.
We would like to thank Anna and her team at the BBC for making us so welcome and for giving us this opportunity.
The ‘chat’ lasted 15 minutes and you can listen to it here.
