An evening out at Connolly’s Tapas Bar, Stratford Upon Avon
We visited Connolly’s Tapas Bar whilst we staying at the Riverside Campsite near Stratford-upon Avon. Our friends Sally and Dickie had been before and recommended a visit.
The Restaurant
First impressions were good, small personable restaurant with a spanish feel with decor to match. As soon as we walked into the restaurant we sensed a very relaxed atmosphere, and the 4 of us were shown to a very spacious table.
The Service
The service was exceptional from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left. We were very impressed with the happy, knowledgeable staff.
The Food
We chose 2 dishes each from the Tapas menu and the specials board.
These included homemade meatballs, sticky chicken wings, patatas bravas, white bait, whole tiger prawns, melted camembert with onion chutney, black pudding pancetta and 3 bean chilli and crispy paprika and chilli squid rings which were all delicious.
It was our first experience of white bait, and we both loved it!
Tapas is available in the evenings but Connolly’s Tapas Bar is also open for breakfast and lunch.
The Cost
The Tapas prices varied between £5-£8, we also had 2 bottles of wine and 2 pints of cider. The bill came to £45 per couple, we felt that some dishes were better value for money than others, however, overall we were satisfied with the price.
Directions
It is so easy to get to from the Riverside campsite. Walk out the main entrance, turn left and it is a 10 minutes walk away.
We really enjoyed our evening at Connolly’s Tapas Bar, the whole experience was great. We recommend a visit if you are in the area.
