Cruise News and our membership to the #ChooseCruise Club
Paul and Carole’s Cruise News
8th November 2018
We have just become members of the CLIA #ChooseCruise Club and wanted to share this news with you. We want to bring you what’s new in the world of cruising with regular updates starting with with this one!
To give you some background CLIA stands for Cruise Lines International Association and is the worlds largest cruise industry association with representation through out the world. CLIA have recently opened their doors for bloggers, vloggers and influencers to join their prestigious club which gives us access to invitations to special events, ship visits and regular updates of what’s new in the cruise industry and we want to share this with you.
It is a really exciting time in the cruise world and Andy Harmer, senior vice-president membership and CLIA UK and Ireland director has indicated that there are 24 new ships scheduled to launch in 2019 and 107 new ships on order for delivery before 2027, which gives you some idea how popular cruising has become.
We know that there are cruise holidays out there to suit all tastes and we hope through our cruise news we can introduce you to some interesting information, new concepts and tempt you to consider our favourite way to travel.
So what is new?
Princess Cruises newest ship the 3,660 guest Enchanted Princess will have it’s naming ceremony in Southampton in late June of 2020 before it heads to the Mediterranean. The last Princess ship named in the UK was the Royal Princess in 2013, so you can see why Princess fans are excited about this as it doesn’t happen often here in the UK. In the meantime Sky Princess is debuting in 2019 and will also be sailing from the Mediterranean, more information can be found here – Princess Cruises. We can confirm that we have just booked a cruise on Sky Princess for July 2021 to the Baltic, to celebrate Carole’s retirement – how exciting is that!
The Scarlet Lady the first ship from Richard Branson and Virgin Voyages is going to partner with NYC’s most historic tattoo brands, World Famous Tattoo Ink, which will enable passengers to have tattoo’s at sea. This has caused some interesting debates and the Scarlet Lady certainly has some innovative aspects. If you want to learn more about the Scarlet Lady then do click here.
