Sunday Lunch at the Edgemoor Inn, Gloucestershire
We had heard good reports about the Edgemoor Inn and decided to pay a visit. We were actually Housesitting in Edge, Gloucestershire at the time, staying in a wonderful property looking after 2 red setters, Harvey and Red. The pub was only 1/2 a mile away.
The Food
They offer an extensive menu but as it was Sunday and we are fans of gravy dinners we opted for the Sunday Roast. We both ordered Roast Lamb and were not disappointed. The meals came with 2 large roast potatoes, French beans, carrots, curly kale, cauliflower/broccoli cheese and gravy, homemade mint sauce was also provided. The portions were good for the normal adult but not for Paul who would of liked more potatoes!
The Cost
The price of a roast dinner was £10 each which is expensive, but the quality of the food was excellent, no additional seasoning was needed. We had 2 diet cokes which were £1.80 each.
The Service
The waitressing staff provided a prompt and efficient service. They were all polite and pleasant to deal with.
The Location
The Edgemoor Inn is situated on the A4173 Gloucester Road, 6 miles south of Gloucester and 2 miles from Painswick on the A46. We had a great afternoon wandering the picturesque streets of Painswick, you can read our Painswick post here.
We definitely recommend a visit and would return. It is expensive and there are other pubs in the area that you could pay less however, what you are paying for is the views which are pretty awesome.
