Food Festival Gloucester Quays 2015
The Gloucester food festival is one of the events held every year at the docks in the city of Gloucester. We had previously attended the Springfest held here and really enjoyed it. We arranged to meet our friends and when we arrived the whole area was buzzing.
The stage had been set with rows of deckchairs, which was great as the sun was certainly shining. The atmosphere was great and the music showcased local talent over the 3 days, one of our favourites was a 15 year old girl from Cheltenham called Grace Palmer, an incredible talent who we are sure has a bright future ahead of her. If you didn’t want live music then there was a DJ tent rocking out some fab tunes at the other end of the dock area.
Foods from all over the world were there to be enjoyed at the Gloucester food festival. We had our first experience of eating a Periogi, a type of polish dumpling that was so delicious we went back for seconds!
Stalls selling local and international produce were positioned all around the stage area, through the Gloucester Quays centre, and up to the far end of the dock area.
If you wanted a drink there were many options. There was a bar next to the stage area, the Big Red Bus, and the newly opened Wetherspoons The Lord High Constable of England.
This was also very popular and the beer garden at the back overlooking the water was packed. There was so much choice of foods from the numerous stalls and some excellent shopping to be had. There was also an option at an additional cost of £8 to watch cookery demonstrations in a large marquis, the celebrity baker Paul Hollywood, from the great british bake off was here entertaining the crowds. It was an excellent day, we really enjoyed it and we look forward to the next one!
If you have not visited the Gloucester food festival before we thoroughly recommend that you do!
