Fuengirola Centro Apartment Review, Spain
My friends and I travelled to Spain for a girls weekend of fun in the sun. Spain is only a 2 hour flight from the UK and ideal for a long weekend away. Last year we travelled to Torremolinos, this time we chose Fuengirola. We stayed at the Fuengirola Centro Apartments which we booked through Booking.com. This is my review.
The Lounge at Fuengirola Centro
The lounge is a decent size with a dining room table that seats 6, TV, and really comfortable sofas and leads out to the balcony. It was a lovely area to spend time in and cool off from the heat. Air conditioning is available throughout the apartment.
The kitchen at Fuengirola Centro
The kitchen was an excellent size leading into a utility room with a washing machine. Equipped with a large fridge freezer, microwave, oven and dishwasher, the owners had thought of everything. Plenty of plates, cups, glasses were available.
The bedrooms at Fuengirola Centro Apartment
My sister Jayne and I stayed in the twin bedroom, which is ideal for a couple of kids. The beds were really comfortable and plenty of storage available. There were also numerous plug sockets that take the European two pin plugs.
Deb and Nat shared a double room which again was a ok size as above with adequate storage. Kate had the double bedroom below which has a small double bed and plenty of room, there is also a ensuite which was a decent size too.
The bathrooms at Fuengirola Centro Apartment
There are two bathrooms, one opposite the twin room and one ensuite. Both a decent size with bidet, baths and showers. The owners also provided shower gel and shampoo which was a nice touch.
The balcony
We spent a lot of time on the balcony, the sun comes round in the afternoon and it can get very hot. There is a shade you can pull down which was welcome in the heat.
This was the perfect spot for a glass of wine and tapas and for watching the sun go down over the mountains. A perfect sunset!
The swimming pool at Fuengirola Centro
The pool is shared with the other apartments but was never very busy.
The only small criticism we had was that sunbeds were not provided, there were 2 chairs in the cupboard you could take to the pool, but that was not the same as lying on comfy sunbeds in the sun. We chose to just lie on our towels and the grass was very soft but sunbeds would of been perfect.
We had such fun in the pool and our synchronised swimming skills went down well!
WiFi
WiFi was free, fast and available throughout the apartment.
Finding Fuengirola Centro Apartment
We were a little worried that we wouldn’t be able to find Fuengirola Centro after reading some reviews, however, we needn’t have worried as it was very easy to find. We walked from the train station and it took 20 minutes. When you come up the stairs or escalator and are stood in front of the station, turn right. Continue straight past the museums and Zoo. Turn right at the roundabout, walk past Sweet Moments restaurant continue until the brow of the hill and Fuengirola Centro is directly on the left.
Location
The location is great, 10 minutes walk to the beach and the centre of Fuengirola.
The beach is lovely, the weather was perfect during our stay, but the sand did get really hot, even with flip flops on. Stupidly I had left my water shoes in the apartment, so running to the water was very painful!
Just down the road from Fuengirola is a little bar/restaurant called Sweet Moments where they served the best Frappelatte, milk shakes and Tapas. We would definitely recommend a visit!
There is a lovely harbour in Fuengirola, if you are facing the sea head left and you will find it easily. Full of restaurant and bars it is a great place to watch the world go by.
We were sad to leave Fuengirola Centro and could of happily spent a week or two here. It is a fantastic apartment that is ideal for a group of friends or large family. In fact you could sleep an extra 2 short adults or children on the sofa in the living room comfortably, so a total of 8 persons could be accommodated. We couldn’t fault the apartment it really was well equipped and comfortable. As stated above our only criticism would be the lack of sunbeds. However it is a great choice for a holiday in Fuengirola and we would recommend a stay here.
