In this Marella dining guide we detail all the dining venues across the five ships in the Marella Cruises fleet. This will cover all restaurants that are included in your cruise fare and speciality dining that comes at an extra charge.

The Main Dining Room (MDR)

All 5 ships have main dining rooms that are set over two decks. On Marella Discovery 1 & 2 the MDR is called 47 degrees, on Marella Explorer 1 & 2 and Marella Voyager the MDR is called Latitude 53. The main dining rooms are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is definitely the place to be on gala night when the chefs and waiters pull out all the stops to give you an unforgettable dining experience.

Marella has extensive gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options too, just make sure you speak to the Maitre’d at your earliest opportunity. Also found in the main dining room is Gallery 47 on Marella Discovery 1 & 2 and Vista on Marella Explorer 1 & 2 and Marella Voyager. This is an Italian themed restaurant using fresh and authentic ingredients, if you didn’t know better you would think you were Rome or Sorrento!

All dining in the main dining rooms including Vista and Gallery 47 are included in your cruise fare.

The Buffet

We love a good cruise ship buffet and Marella has definitely got you covered. You’ll find Islands buffet on Marella Discovery 1 & 2, The Market Place on Marella Explorer 1 & 2 and The Kitchens on Marella Voyager. They all offer a fantastic range of food from full cooked breakfast to pastries, muffins, cakes and delicious freshly baked breads. Cereals, yogurt, and fresh fruits are also available if you are looking for something a little more healthy.

There are also live cooking stations cooking eggs and omelettes just how you like them plus a pancake station too! Lunch and dinner will have you spoilt for choice, from soups and salads to sandwiches, curries, pasta, fish and chips, pies and pasties, plus a fabulous selection of cheeses and deserts. If a roast dinner is what you are craving you are in luck as all buffets feature a carvery roast section every day and exclusively on Marella Voyager the kitchens offer specialist sections that are dedicated to Chinese, Indian, and Greek food plus a savoury pie section too!

Snack Shack

Snack Shack is found on all ships. This is the pool side grill serving burgers, hot dogs, fried chicken and fish and chips. There is also a selection of sandwiches, salads and cookies at the grab and go section which is ideal if you are off exploring or just want a snack to take back to your cabin. The Snack Shack has the perfect seaside feel to it, even the seating is in the style of a British seaside beach huts and is included in your cruise fare.

The Glass House

The Glass House is exclusive to Marella Discovery 1 & 2 and has a cabana pool vibe. During the day you will find panini’s, sandwiches, rotisserie chicken and salads. The dress code for lunch is like a day at the beach. Come the evening things turn to smart casual serving meat skewers, sharing boards and Tapas platters that are all included in your cruise fare.

Nonna's

Nonna’s which is Italian for grandmother, is a pizza and pasta restaurant and is found on both Marella Voyager and Marella Explorer 2. Open for lunch and dinner you get to create your own pizza and pasta dishes from the extensive list of ingredients on offer that are then expertly cooked by the resident chef. The dinner menu has a more comprehensive set of ingredients but both lunch and dinner come with a selection of salads and desserts and again is included in your cruise fare.

The Mediterranean

Tapas @The Mediterranean and Italian @The Mediterranean are tucked away in the Market Place buffet and are exclusive to Marella Explorer. Open for lunch and dinner you can enjoy your favourite Spanish and Portuguese tapas in a casual and relaxed atmosphere, there are some chargeable items here but the majority are included in your cruise fare. Italian @The Mediterranean like Nonna’s is a build your own pizza and pasta restaurant also serving salads and desserts, all items here are included in your cruise fare.

Nacho’s Abuelas Marella Voyager

Abuela's

Abuela’s is exclusive to Marella Voyager, serving Mexican favourites including Tacos, Nachos, Enchiladas, Burritos and much much more, the salsa is probably the best we have ever tasted! The venue itself perfectly recreates a Mexican cantina, but be warned Abuela’s gets extremely busy and is on a first come first served basis so whether it’s lunch or dinner you are after make sure you get there early. Abuela’s is included in your cruise fare.

Surf and Turf

Surf and Turf as the name suggests is the place to be for juicy steaks and plump prawns and lobster tails, but it doesn’t end there, with lots of other meat and fish options including a succulent rack of lamb, Cornish game hen and roasted salmon fillet. There are vegan and vegetarian options available and of course an excellent choice of decadent desserts too! Surf and Turf is available across the entire Marella cruises fleet, this restaurant does come with a cover charge and booking is essential.

Kora La

Kora La is a Pan Asian speciality restaurant and like Surf and Turf is available across the entire Marella cruises fleet. Featuring dishes from renowned chef Ian Pengelley, with classic starters including Guyosa, samosas and bhaji’s the duck and watermelon salad starter is worth a visit by itself.

Dishes inspired by the food of Japan, India, Indonesia, Korea and more, there is a Thali option which gives you the opportunity to try four different speciality curries with as much or as little spice as you like. But it’s not just about curry, there are Chilean sea bass and Angus beef options available to all cooked with an Asian twist. We have cruised a lot and this is easily one of the best Asian speciality restaurants at sea! Kora La comes with a cover charge and booking is essential.

Sushi

Sushi Bar , Seabass nigiri, spicy tuna rolls and salmon sashimi are just a few of the favourites available here and there is an excellent selection of Asian beers to wash it down with including Singha, Tiger and Asahi. Sushi Bar is only available on Marella Discovery and Marella Discovery 2 and does come with a cover charge.

Umi Sushi, Sushi, sashimi and Nigiri rolls are freshly prepared in front of you in this eatery that is exclusive to Marella Explorer, with soups and dim sum available to this should appeal to all sushi fans. Umi Sushi comes with a cover charge.

Beach Cove

Beach Cove is a bbq inspired restaurant that serves up sliders, baby back ribs, loaded nachos and chicken wings, funky swing chairs help give this venue an al fresco vibe. More substantial dishes come in the form of giant Espetada Portuguese skewers plus there are sharing platters too. The wheel of dessert is a genius idea combining bite size cheesecake, profiteroles, key lime tartlets and sea salt caramel brownies served with vanilla gelato, what’s not to love! Beach Cove is exclusive to Marella Explorer 2 and comes with a cover charge.

The Dining Club

The Dining Club is an absolute must for foodies, serving classics like chateaubriand and seared scallops in champagne butter, it’s the spot for an evening to remember. The Dining Club also hosts a Westend inspired afternoon tea called the great musical afternoon tea. Paying homage to classic west end musicals, decorated in memorabilia and show posters, there are six types of tea and a cocktail of your choice included. The musical afternoon tea only takes place once a week so booking is absolutely essential. You will only find The Dining Club on Marella Explorer and Explorer 2 and comes with a cover charge.

Platter

Platter is exclusive to Marella Voyager, serving up light bites of meats, cheeses, pate and vegetarian options on, you’ve guessed it, platters and is perfect for sharing. We think Platter is excellent value for money. All boards come with fresh bread, crackers, olive oil, pickles and homemade chutney which can be topped up for free. Wine flights are also available and you can buy top ups for your board if you wish.

Silver Fork Dessert Marella Voyager

Silver Fork

Silver Fork is another venue that is exclusive to Marella Voyager. It takes a classic British menu and flips it on its head, there are two options available which you can decide on once you are in the restaurant.

Option 1 is a tasting menu that consists of 7 different items with dishes including pea fritters, deconstructed scotch egg and vodka compressed apple to name a few. There is also a full vegetarian tasting menu and lots of gluten free options too!

Option two is a traditional three course menu, with starter, main and dessert, with a twist on classics like sausage rolls, cockles and tomato soup to start, beef wellington, ham egg and chips for mains and desserts including sticky toffee pudding and black forest arctic roll. Silver Fork is a restaurant like no other that we would highly recommend, it does come with a cover charge that varies depending on which option you choose.
